Navapashana Ashtadasa Bhuja Mahalakshmi Durga Temple at Kurichi, Pattukottai

Ashtadasa Bhuja Mahalakshmi Durga Temple at Kurichi houses a very rare murti of Goddess Durga. The murti here is made of Navapashana – containing 9 herbal ingredients. 



She is worshipped in the temple has 18 hands (ashtadasabujam). She is seated on a lion and is 12 feet tall.  The murti worshipped in the temple is believed to have the combined energy of Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi(Description can be found in Devi Mahatmyam).

The temple is around 500-1000 years old.


The Twin Vinayakar in the temple is located undTer a Rudraksha Tree.

The widespread belief is that Mother Goddess here cures serious illness. People also pray here to get rid of marriage delays and child birth.

Ashtadasa Bhuja Mahalakshmi Durga Temple timing is from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
